Aina Madagascar is an alternate to traditional tourism that focuses on intercultural exchanging relations in equitable way and is an initiative to offer travellers a chance to live and take part in community and not just observe it from afar. The tourism activities and businesses are developed and operated by local community members and certainly with their consent and support

We can define “Sustainable Tourism” as an activities or industry working on making low impact on the natural environment and local culture. Besides, it could be help to generate income and employments for locals and finally, make environmental integrity, social justice and economic development

Aina Madagascar literally means “Soul of living of Madagascar” is a non-governmental and non-profit organization based and registered in Antananarivo, Madagascar, in the national registry of Association. Ministry of Interior on 06 December 2004 with N°2021/04 PA.ANT/SPAT/ASS.

Aims of Aina Madagascar

• Contribute to intercultural understanding and tolerance

• Inform travelers of the culture, politics and economy of the communities visited

• Anticipate and respect local cultures’ expectations and assumptions

• Support the integrity of local cultures by favoring businesses which conserve cultural heritage and traditional values

• Support local economies by purchasing local goods and participating with small local business

• Conserve resources by seeking out businesses that are environmentally conscious, and by using the least possible amount of non-renewable resources
